At the historic valley of Lhasa, ancient monasteries full of rich Tibetan architecture, historic fortresses, the serene turquoise lakes and the charming Tibetan people warmly welcome you. The 'Lost Horizon' in literature and the 'Forbidden City' for the past several centuries is still a city of several wonders. The must-visit places in Lhasa are the great Potala palace, the sacred Jokhang Temple, Ganden Monastery, Tibetan Medical Centre and so on; the list goes on as far as time permits you.

A bonus to this tour is a journey out of Lhasa to the enticing and beautiful Namtso Lake. The famous lake is considered the highest-located salt water lakes of the world and one of the most beautiful lakes of entire China. From Namtso Lake the journey continues towards Shigatse through Yangpachen valley. In Shigatse, you can visit the Tashilhunpo monastery, previously the home of Panchen Lamas, among other attractive places.

Further on you can trek towards Everest Base Camp (5364m), from where you can see the Mountains Everest (8848m), Pumori (7161m) and Lhotse (8516m) at a very close range. On the way to the base camp, you will come across diverse culture and ethnicity of the Tibetan people and the rich flora and fauna preserved in the Chomolungma (the Tibetan Name for Mount Everest) National Park. Leaving the base camp behind, you trek along Sino-Nepal Friendship Highway to Tingri and then to Zangmu, a border town with Nepal. From here, you will enter the lush green Sunkoshi valley, which leads you to Kathmandu.

Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 01 Kathmandu- Lhasa
Yo reach Lhasa by a trans-Himalayan flight from Kathmandu. You cross the main Himalayan range before hovering over the massive Tibetan plateau savoring the breathtaking view of the majestic mountain range. The bird's eye view of Mount Everest and other peaks like Langtang (7100m), Gauri Shankar (7245m), Melungtse (7100m), Xixapangma (8012m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516m), and Makalu (8463m), among others, is truly spectacular. Your plane will be landed at Lhasa Gonggar Airport (93km from the main city) at 13:40pm Chinese time. Transfer to Tsetang and check in. Afternoon free for acclimatization & O/N Hotel
Day 02 Tsetang
Yambulakhang Palace, a medieval-European-castle-like structure, reputed as Tibet's oldest building and Trandduk temple. PM visit the Ancient Tibetan King’s Tombs in Chongye valley, o/n in Tsetang
Day 03 Tsetang – Lhasa
Drive to Lhasa and visit Samye Monastery en route, the first one built in Tibet by Padmasambhava in 8th century. To reach Samye, will take ferry to cross the Yarlung Tsangpo river & O/N at Hote Lhasa
Days 04-05 Lhasa
Visit in Lhasa: Potala Palace, Jorkhang Temple & Barkor street, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and Rimoche Temple, Tibetan Medicine Institute & O/N Hotel
Day 06 Full excursion to Ganden Monastery and same day drive back to Lhasa & O/N Hotel
Day 07 Lhasa – Namtso
Drive Lhasa to Damshung, and forwards to Namtso Lake, literally heavenly lake, which is the biggest lake in Tibet and the second biggest salt lake in China as well as the highest lake in the world (4748m). It’s one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, playing an important role among Tibetans, excursion around the lake and Tashi Hermitage, overnight lodge at lake side
Day 08 Namtso – Sigatse
Drive from Namtso lake, the journey continues towards Shigatse through Yangpachen hot spring to Shigatse via Da Zhu Ka ferry, visit the Tashilhunpo monastery, previously the home of Panchen Lamas & O/N Hotel
Day 09 Sigatse – Sakya Monatery
AM visit Tashilunbo Monastery, drive to Sakya Monastery & O/N in Sakya guest house
Day 10 AM visit Sakya Manastery, drive to Xegar, visit Xegar Dzong, continually drive to Rongbuk Monastery O/N in Rongbuk guest house
Day 11 Excursion from Rongbuk to Everst Base Camp (8km). You can take carriage for one way, and return by walk. O/N at Rongbuk Guest House
Day 12 Drive about 96kms Rongbuk to Old Tingri & O/N at Guest House
Day 13 Drive Old Tingri to Zhangmu (2500m), Drive (277kms) via Nyalam crossing two spectacular passes- The Lalunga la (5050m.) & Nyalamu-la (3800m.), visit Melaripa’s Cave en route, forwards to Zhangmu.
Day 14 Zangmu – Kathmandu
After China Custom formalities in Zangmu, drive 123kms down to Friendship bridge. From here, you will enter the lush green Sunkoshi valley, which leads you to Kathmandu.
