Lower Dolpo Trekking
Salt trade route of Dolpo (Ref: YTR16NP)

This circuit is the shorter one in Lower Dolpo. This program will take you to the capital town Dho, of Lower Dolpo. It consists of two passes over 5000m, Numla and Bagala, and Shey Phoksundo Lake, which is deepest Lake in Nepal, also lies inside the Shey Phoksundo National Park.

Dolpo region, that culturally and naturally resembles the Mustang region, lies in the direct route between Tibet and Nepal, where we cross the caravans of yaks carrying salt and wool from Tibet. It makes any trekkers feel the lifestyle of mountainous region. It offers a highly adventurous journey where you get to feel the rhythm of chörtens, Buddhist prayer spots and watching Blue Sheep, Snow Leopard, Rabbit and Marmot in the Shey Phoksundo National Park where Shey Phoksundo Lake lies. Crossing two passes Kangla pass (5500m) and Gela pass (5100m)

Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu. Welcome in the airport and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02 Kathmandu: Free day. Preparation day for the trek.
Day 03 Kathmandu- Nepalgunj : 1hrs by plane or by bus 12 hrs and O/N in Hotel.
Day 04 Nepalgunj- Juphal- Dunai (2135m), 45min by air and 3/4hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 05 Dunai -Tarakot (2500m), 5/6hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 06 Tarakot- Lahini (2800m), 5/6hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 07 Lahini - Taraf Khola (3300m), 5/6hrs walking and O/N at camp
Day 08 Taraf Khola - Dho (3800m), 4/5hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 09 Dho: Excursion and acclimatizing day.
Day 10 Dho- Num La base camp (4700m), 5/6hrs walking and O/N AT camp
Day 11 Num La bc -Baga BC (4500m), 6/7hrs walking and O/N AT camp.
Day 12 Baga BC - Yak Kharka, 7/8hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 13 Yak Kharka-Ringmo (3200m), 2/3hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 14 Ringmo - Chhepka (2600m), 7/8hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 15 Chhepka - Juphal (2400m), 6/h7hrs walking and O/N at camp
Day 16 Juphal-Nepalgunj, 45min by plane and then Nepalgunj to Katmandou 1hrs by plane or 12/13hrs by bus. It is necessary to be ready before 7 o'clock for the flight. O/N in the hotel.
Day 17 Kathmandu: free day for shopping and souvenirs.
Day 18 Kathmandu: free day for shopping and souvenirs.
Day 19 Transfer to International airport for final departure

All the programs date we have proposed are flexible and can be customized according to your needs and your preferred date, time availability and number of participants. Individuals or small groups can choose to join a pre-existing group with us or trek independently.

The Cost Includes:
  • Transfer: Airport / Hotel pick up & drop by private car/van as per group size.
  • Full board basis during the trekking in tent, camping equipment will be provided such as two-men tents, dining tent, foam mattresses, stools and all cooking and kitchen gear, meals will be prepared by our kitchen staff (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea and coffee.), (Except beverage).
  • An Experienced & Professional Government license holder English speaking trained Trekking guide.
  • Trekking permit for lower Dolpo and Shey Phoksundo national park permit
  • 5 nights in hotel Manaslu at Katmandu or Similar category on a twin sharing bed and BB basis.
  • 1 night at tourist class hotel in Nepalgunj on twin sharing basis with breakfasts
  • First aid kit will be available during the trek.
  • All personal gears and group equipments will be carried by porter or yaks
