Kanchenjunga south Base Camp Trekking (Ref: YTR19NP)

Lied in the eastern border of Nepal Kanchenjunga (8586m) is the third highest peak on earth. Cohabited with other ethnic groups like Sherpa, Brahmin and Chhettri, Rai and Limbus, collectively called Kirat, are the indigenous inhabitants of the region. They have unique culture and customs. Traditional handicraft, carpet weaving, wood turning are widely practiced for their livelihood. Apart from this, it has amazing landscapes, flora and fauna.

Hightlight: Mt Kanchenjunga (8586m), Rai and Limbu people with their customs and cultures, High Mountain passes.

Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 01 Arrival in Katmandou: reception at airport and transfert o hotel, O/N at hotel.
Day 02 Katmandou: free day to make formalities for the trek O/N hotel.
Day 03 Flights Katmandou - Suketar - Phurumba (1900m), 3/4hrs walking and O/N at camp. Suketar is the airfield of Taplejung.
Day 04 Phurumba - Chirwa (1500m) 5/6h of walking and O/N at camp Easy way alongside the Tamur khola, the way becomes more and more irregular, first Limbus village
Day 05 Chirwa - Sikathom (1600m). 4/5h of walking and O/N at camp.
Day 06 Sikathum - Amjilasa (2200m). 5/6h of walking and O/N camp.
Day 07 Amjilasa - Ghyabla (3000m). 5/6 of walking and O/N camp
Day 08 Ghyabla - Ghunsa (3500m). 5/6h of walking O/N at camp.
Day 09 The rest day (acclimatizing) It is in the day after tomorrow, we should choose: pass through the Lapsang La (5700m.) pass it to be link by 3 Pas: Ghunsa Tamo La (4700m.) Sinio La (4800m.) and Mirgin La (4900m.)
Day 10 Ghunsa - Selele Base Camp: (4200m.) 5/6hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 11 Selele - Tseram (3770m.) 5/6hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 12 Tseram - Ramje (4500m.) 3/4hrs walking and O/N at camp.
Day 13 Jour 13: Ramje - Oktang ( South base camp) - Tseram (3785m) 6/7hrs walking and O/N at camp
Day 14 Tseram - Omje Khola (2345m) 6/7hrs walking and O/N at camp
Day 15 Omje Khola – Thartruwa (1920m) 5/6hrs walking and O/N at camp
Day 16 Thatruwa - Khande Bhanjyang (2160m) (Sinchebung) 5/6hrs walking and O/N at camp
Day 17 Khande Bhanjyang – Suketar(2420m) 5/6hrs walking camp close to airfield.
Day 18 Suketar - Biratnagar and then to Kathmandu. O\N in Hotel.
Day 19 Kathmandu : Free day (sightseeing) O/N in hotel.
Day 20 Transfer to the airport.
The Cost Includes:
  • Transfer: Airport / Hotel pick up & drop by private car/van as per group size.
  • Full board basis during the trekking in tent, camping equipment will be provided such as two-men tents, dining tent, foam mattresses, stools and all cooking and kitchen gear, meals will be prepared by our kitchen staff (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea and coffee.), (Except beverage).
  • An Experienced & Professional Government license holder English speaking trained Trekking guide.
  • Entry permit for Kanchanjung Conservation Area Project (KCAP)
  • 5 nights in hotel Manaslu at Katmandu or Similar category on a twin sharing bed and BB basis.
  • First aid kit will be available during the trek.
  • All personal gears and group equipments will be carried by porters
  • Staffs Insurance.
  • Domestic airport taxes.
The Cost Exclude:
  • Flight tickets Kathmandu/Suketar/Kathmandu
  • Lunches and dinners in Katmandu (Near about $US 10 – 15 per day/person)
  • Nepal entry Visa Fee (You can obtain a visa easily upon your arrival at Nepal ’s Airport in Katmandu).
  • International Airfare and Airport Taxes.
  • Entrance fees in the Historical site /Monument at KTM.
  • Any kind of Alcoholic, hot and cold drinks or bar menu.
  • Personal trekking Equipment, travel and medical insurance & helicopter in case for emergency Rescue evacuation, personal expenses,
