Island Jungle Resort (1 night / 2 days)

In the northwest section of the park is an island known as the Bandarkhola, which is surrounded by the Narayani River. This unique island consists of riverine forest, tall grassland, marshland, numerous inlets and oxbow lakes. Such a diverse combination of nature found only on this island provides a perfect habitat for wildlife. It is here that Island Jungle Resort is located, offering you the opportunities to experience the exciting life of the jungle.

Access: 3 hours of Pokhara, a 20min flight facility or 5 hours bus rides from capital Kathmandu take you in the land of Chitwam. You can also opt the waterway by rafting along the Trishuli River.

Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 01

Drive Kathmandu / Island Jungle Lodge.
The Mugling Highway connects Kathmandu to Chitwan. After five hours leisurely drive on the Highway we arrive at Thapuighat, here we are welcomed by the representative of the lodge then transferred to lodge by jeep, river boats elephants or land rovers. Welcome drink and tikka are offered. Upon arrival at lodge, briefing by the Guest Relation officer regarding the Royal Chitwan National Park and the programs available and O/N lodge.

Fly Kathmandu to Bharatpur (20 min flight):
Transfer to the domestic airport for your 20min flight to Bharatpur on the edge of Royal Chitwan National Park. Upon arrival at Bharatpur airfield, you will be met by the Island Jungle Lodge representative and transferred to Island Jungle Lodge by boat and land rover (approx 50 min). Welcome drink and tikka are offered. Upon arrival at lodge, briefing by the Guest Relation officer regarding the Royal Chitwan National Park and the programs available and O/N lodge.

National Park: Various activities in the jungle as a jungle safari on elephant back, observation of the animals (particularly birds), observation of sun set in evening from a view point, enjoy with observing typical dances (specially " stick dances " of the ethnic Tharu)

Day 02 Early morning bird watching and after breakfast transfer to Bharatpur airfield or return overland for your onward travel.
