The opening up of the Nepal-Tibet border at Humla in 1994 has eased the life of trekkers and pilgrims bySimikot Airstrip cutting short the conventional trekking route to Kailash Manasarovar by several days. You reach Kailash in a few days' trek via Taklakot (Purang). You need to go to Nepalgunj and catch a flight to Simikot (2960m), the threshold of the trek. The flight over the Karnali river valley – a gorge caught by river Karnali between giant mountains will increase your adrenaline rush as you enjoy the beauty of the mountainous terrains.
From Simikot, the trail passes along the Humla Karnali – one of the tributaries of the large Karnali befriending the gilded wheat and paddy fields, the highest covered paddy fields of the world. After playing with the silver white Karnali water and enjoying the music of its gush for several days, reach to Limi valley and cross over to the Tibetan city of Zher. From Zher further trek to Mount Kailash via Purang (Taklakot), an administrative center of Tibet.
After completing the tour around Mount Kailash and the holy lake Manasarovara return by a vehicle to Nyalam via Saga and Gusto. From Nyalum continue a journey towards Zangmu (Khasa), where require crossing the border to Nepal and head towards the culmination point of the tour, Kathmandu.
