BHUTAN

Bhutan is a small country in the lap of Himalayas that is filled with natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Largely unaffected by external influence, Bhutan's isolation from the external world and the ensued tranquility is a major attraction for tourists. The preserved Buddhist culture and its artifacts blended with the natural beauty of dazzling white mountains, rich Himalayan flora and fauna makes it a real Shangri la.
Bhutan remained closed to the external visitors for a long. Lately, it has gently opened its doors to tourists but in a controlled and selective manner. Tourists visit Bhutan to experience the traditional Buddhist culture with the hospitable indigenous Buddhist community or to experience some adventure in trekking and rafting. The undulating mountainous terrains and the lush valleys of Bhutan offers excellent trails for trekking with breathtaking sceneries.

Bhutan is connected to the external world through a bi-weekly flight from Kathmandu to Paro. The flight itself offers a glimpse of the natural beauty of this area. During the short flight you can observe a close-up view of many mountains of the Himalayan range including the Everest and Kanchenjunga.
